ECCP Training & Professional Development Specialist

POSITION SUMMARY:

The ECCP Training and Professional Development Specialist (TPD), working in conjunction with the ECCP Management Team, closely with the ECCP Director to identify and develop solutions that meet the professional development needs for the ECCP Program.  The ECCP TPD takes the lead in enhancing and creating trainings for the ECCP Program. This includes working closely with the ECCP Program Manager –Operations and ECCP Management Team to understand and address the ongoing professional development needs of the ECCP Consultants. They also work closely with the ECCP Data Specialist to develop trainings that are identified as a need as a result of continuous quality improvement initiatives.  This position is up to 75% work from home and the remainder of time will be in the corporate office, with the flexibility to work more in office to fit the business needs of the company.  This position will represent ABH and its services in a positive and professional manner and adhere to ABH’s best practices, guidelines, policies and procedures as established, promoting ABH as a leader in behavioral healthcare in all interactions and work.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Trained in and holds strong working knowledge of the ECCP Program Model.
  • Maintain and enhance ECCP Training materials as needed to reflect best practices of infant and early childhood mental health consultation. Leads the integration of training content into the ECCP Learning Management System (LMS).
  • Develop and institute innovative solutions to address the professional development needs of the ECCP program. Work closely with the ECCP Management team to identify trends, needs, and solutions.
  • Provides supervision to ECCP training coordinator.
  • Monitors ongoing ECCP staff training needs, and works closely with ECCP Program Manager -Operations to help determine focus areas for needed professional development for the ECCP Program.
  • Works closely with the ECCP Data Specialist to integrate findings from continuous quality improvement initiatives to enhance and optimize trainings.
  • Report to the ECCP Director any issues related to an individual staff member’s job performance that may urgently impact the ability to fulfill contract requirements;
  • Demonstrates confidence related to working within evidence based model and able to uphold the significant value of understanding and conveying the role data plays in informing the work of consultation.
  • Other administrative duties as identified by the Program Director, including but not limited to, co-facilitating ECCP staff meetings;  representing ABH and ECCP in the Early Childhood Community; attendance at, and/or participation in, activities related to the ECCP Contract, such as Early Childhood Initiatives, trainings and presentations; triage requests for ECCP Services and public presentations; and other duties as identified to implement and enhance the overall activities related to new or existing components of the ECCP Program;
  • Maintains confidentiality of all client protected health information and adheres to all HIPPA related to policies and procedures;
  • Performs other tasks/responsibilities as required to support the business operations;
  • Demonstrates ethical behavior and cultural sensitivity in all activities involving individuals of diverse backgrounds.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Masters Degree in the field of Mental Health;
  • Clinical License required;
  • 5 or more years of post graduate work experience with children in the behavioral health and early education fields, preferably working in the field of early childhood mental health consultation.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the principles and practices involved in delivering individual child and classroom focused early childhood mental health services;
  • 1-4 years of work experience in the supervision of staff for effective and efficient service delivery;
  • Experience working within an evidence based service delivery model preferred.
  • Experience developing and enhancing high quality content to support professional development
  • Experience with community engagement and in facilitating effective partnerships across disciplines.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

  • Strong attention to detail; ability to work on multiple tasks and meet deadlines;
  • Excellent organizational skills;
  • Knowledge of adult learning;
  • Effective communication skills, demonstrated leadership and planning skills;
  • Competencies in the following areas: (Administrative, Reflective, and or Clinical) Supervision; Management; Culture, Early Childhood Development, Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health, and Early Childhood Education; Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health Consultation;
  • Professional writing, training and public speaking skills;
  • Excellent PC skills with demonstrated experience using Microsoft Office Package (MS Word, Excel, Power Point, Access, Outlook); internet; working within an information system preferred.
    Strong written and verbal communication skills required.
  • Bilingual Candidate preferred
  • Must have valid Connecticut driver’s license and reliable transportation;
