Clinical Housing Supervisor

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Clinical Housing Supervisor provides leadership, oversight and coordinating functions supporting the DMHAS Client Money Management and Young Adult Services programs. This position will represent ABH® and its services in a positive and professional manner and adhere to ABH®’s best practices, guidelines, policies and procedures as established, promoting ABH® as a leader in behavioral healthcare in all interactions and work.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for the hiring, supervision, and evaluations for all Housing Coordinators in the DCMM/YAS contract.
- Supports program participants to maintain stabilized housing and ensures supportive services are specific to each consumer’s clinical needs and treatment recovery.
- Conduct screenings and assessments to increase housing stability and wellness.
- Provide education to Housing Coordinators to support their clients with applying for eligible programs and benefits in order to secure stable, affordable, and safe housing.
- Collaborate with program participants to develop, revise, monitor, and implement the housing stability plan, informed by a person-centered approach.
- Establish a schedule of monthly community meetings and home visits with assigned program participants and various Housing Coordinators.
- Educate clients and staff on effective communication with property management and subsidy supports in order to meet their ongoing housing needs.
- Advocate for a clinically appropriate match in services and resources when necessary.
- Provide skills training groups and/or organize other community building forums with program participants and housing coordinators.
- Utilize a prevention approach to minimize crises with program participants; Respond to urgent situations in consultation with the DMHAS clinical team.
- Liaison with clinical teams, mainstream service providers, and community partners to facilitate appropriate service referrals and foster connections to needed services.
- Attend various clinical and team meetings as scheduled by Program Manager or DMHAS administrative staff.
- Meet weekly with Program Manager and as needed for guidance with complex situations.
- Review requests and necessary backup documentation for housing requests generated in our web-based programs.
- Provides direct clinical housing support services to designated clients as determined by the DMHAS clinical teams.

- Performs other duties as assigned on an as-needed basis.
- Employs interpersonal expertise to provide good working relationships with members, providers, facilities and other ABH personnel;
- Maintains confidentiality of all client protected health information and adheres to all HIPAA related policies and procedures;
- Demonstrates ethical behavior and cultural sensitivity in all activities involving individuals of diverse backgrounds;
- Performs other tasks/responsibilities as required/assigned to support the business operations.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Master’s degree in related field, with 3 years’ experience;
- Current CT licensure in in a clinical field preferred.
- Experience with community engagement and in facilitating effective partnerships across disciplines.
- Preferred candidates will be able to demonstrate ability to work with providers and program staff; to supervise other employees; to support program operations; and to communicate effectively.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
- Strong attention to detail; ability to work on multiple tasks and meet deadlines;
- Excellent PC skills with demonstrated experience using Microsoft Office Package (MS Word, Excel, Power Point, Access, Outlook) and Internet;
- Competencies in the following areas: Administrative, Project Management, Leadership, Business Management, Accounting, Strategic Alignment and Change Management, Supervision, Management, Culture;
- Must have valid Driver’s license and reliable transportation as this position may include statewide travel;
- Strong written and verbal communication skills required.
