Multisystemic Therapy Quality Assurance (MST QA)

Excellence in Training and Quality Assurance Oversight

For almost 20 years, ABH has served as a liaison between state funders, MST providers and other stakeholders as an MST Network Partner. The program provides training in the MST model, clinical consultation, data collection and outcome dissemination to all stakeholders. Fundamentally, ABH works with agencies to ensure MST Model fidelity, quality services for families and to develop improvement plans for programs that are underperforming. Since 2003, ABH has provided quality service oversight for almost 10,000 families, with outcomes that speak for themselves.

  • 88% youth at home
  • 84% in school or working
  • 78% without re-arrest

ABH also operates a TAM-R Call Center for MST Providers. This area of the MST Network Partner program facilitates surveys demonstrating model adherence scores for each therapist, thereby providing invaluable data for MST teams in and out of state. ABH is proud to exceed MST’s collection target of 70% each year.

Successes & Milestones

Since 2003, MST has served over 5,000 families. Of those families:

  • 85% of the youth remained in the community at the time of discharge
  • 84% of the youth were in school or working at the time of discharge
  • 74% had not been rearrested during treatment at the time of discharge

  • In 2009, ABH received the Science to Service award from SAMHSA for implementation of an evidence-based practice.
  • In 2009, the ABH quality assurance team received the “Whatever it Takes” award from MST Services for demonstrating outstanding and meritorious service within the MST community.
